do they give good power gains? more noticable then stock??

12-15-2003, 07:44 PM
Yeah what was the power gains.

It would be nice if someone installed a slip-on then a dual setup and gave a review..;)

I can't say anything about the performance but dual exhaust's look bad ***.

We have a 400ex with a white Bros "E" series pipe and i always thought it sounded good. As a metter of fact it was a little embarrasing going riding with the wife when her quad sounded better (mine was still faster :D) But these pipes sound awsome, deeper than the EX, just as loud, just awsome!

As for the performance gain its as good as any other quad i ever rode with a pipe. Most pipe systems will get you around 3HP, im sure this is at least that if not 4Hp It was a definable difference.
The Kit also came with the Jet too, A 150 i think it was.

Oy ya, and a STICKER!!

I was going to try to get a clip of the sound but my mic cord isnt long enough, maybe next weekend

The price of the kit for the Z-400 is $716 and that comes with the jet all the pipes and hardware needed to install and a detailed installation manual.
It took me one day to install, and only that long because i stripped out a couple of the float bowl screws and had to go to sears for a tool to remove them. Otherwise id say someone who already is familiar with their quad could have them installed in about 4 hours max. It really was not hard.

My favorite place to ride is Sand Lake. However, I also ride at Capital Forest, Evans Creek, Elbe Hills. And we might be going to Tahuya in Belfair tomorrow. Never been there so im curious to check it out.

Capitol forest and Tahuya are some of my favorite haunts. I have yet to make it to Sand lakes, but hope to get there this summer.
I also ride the Naches trail, Moses lake. A freind of mine has property off Canyon rd. we ride there in the winter and on off weekends in the summer when there arent any poker runs or when its too hot to go to the desert.

Looks cool, but I find it hard to believe that you can tell the difference between 3 & 4 horsepower! Your butt must be a certified dyno...

Looks good. I was checking the website and it said for the 400ex you can expect 2.5 to 3 hp gain. That seems a little more than most other pipes for a stock motor. Has anyone seen or know of anyone who's tried one on a 400ex? They look real sweet and I bet they sound awesome too.
