I was wondering if I should buy a 400ex next week or wait the release of the 450R. Right now I'm riding a 1997 Warrior but I want to change it for something sportier...

I'm mostly riding in woods trails and open fields and mabye I will start jumping a little :) . What I want to know is if a 400ex will be enough to do those kinds of activites so i'll save some cash over the 450R so i'll be able to buy stuff for the 400

What do you guys think? 450R worth it for a week-end rider?

so its up to u
yeah the 450 wil out run the 400 but u also got an extra 4g's in it

Two other question: :D

1-Is there differences between 400ex and 450R frame's rigidity?

2-And what is the advantage of having a front gas suspension?

The type of riding you do I would go with the 400ex. Also the TRX450 is just coming out. I am going to wait for a year before I purchase one. Let them work out the bugs, but then again it is a Honda I don't think they would have to change much.

on the frame is u mean durability we dont know yet
id get the 400 and buy some suspension and still be out way cheaper than a 450
but if money is not the issue get the 450
also the yfz450 seems pretty sweet also
but the seat is so hard, i rode one the other dsay and the seat was so uncomfortable to me

I think I'll go with 400ex, also my friend have one and I know how the riding looks like.

Can I jump with a 400 stock with no problem or I need to change some components?

The gas reservoirs are a huge plus. If you ride fairly hard for a good length of time, shocks without the reservoirs tend to lose their dampening affect or start to "fade". The reservoirs help keep the suspension cool and in control. Very nice to have.

My mom told me if I graduate high school she would buy me a new 4-wheeler.Well about a month ago I found out I am graduating this semester.(I got a week left!)

I went down to the local honda shop to see what kind of prices they where getting on the 450r.After finding out it wa going to be 7 grand OTD.I pretty much didn't care if the thing flew to moon. And didn't use gas. That was just to much money.

All's I was wanting was a reliable bike I could ride anywhere and have fun on.I found a low hour mint condtion 02 400ex for 3700 and have had it for a month now.So far it has been a good bike.I flipped it and bent the subframe a little and I cracked the back plastic a little bit.(when I cracked the plastic the qaud did 3 flips end over end)So has it be reliable?Heck ya.This is coming from a guy who has been through 3 stock 300ex swingarms and 2 pairs of stock front 300ex shocks.I ride hard and when I go down I ussually bite it pretty hard.

So far the 400ex has been an awesome bike.I have most of the free mods and a different filter and rejet. It runs alot better than stock and is a blast to mess around on.

try looking in the local trader or newspaper or on here, there are good deals on clean 400ex's out there you just have to find them

I picked up this barely used '01 for $3000 a few months ago

a steering stabilizer helps you buy helping to absorb some of the shock that is sent to the handle bars, its sopose to be a huge advantage for racing and long rides :)
