I just found out that ealier today...one of my teachers from other years died while quading. :( He taught me Exploring Tech. last yr, and Industrial Arts in grade 8 & 9.
Ealier today, he and one of his friends were out riding their quads, and his friend was far ahead and he was wondering where Mr. Holman was, so he went back, and found him dead:eek2: He was on the ground and his helmet was all cracked to chit and he was just...dead.
I'm takin it that maybe his throttle was stuck on and he couldn't hit the kill switch or the off button soon enough:confused:
Just remember to wear your helmets!!!! In this case it didn't save his life...but it probably prevented a more fatal death.
BTW...he was NO novice. He rode quads all his life. He could have taught how to ride quads, build em and so on. He's gone on many quading trips acrossed Canada. Quads and snowmobiles were his life.
R.I.P Robert Holman a.k.a Rob (as we called him)...the best teacher ever...
