250r engine in 400ex frame?

Hey guys, im thinkin about putting a 250r motor in my 400ex frame. Anyone wanna gimmi tips, know hows and info on this?

Can I do it without that kit or w/e that is?

Sure you could. But by the time you got done it would be about the same cost, once you factor in all your time and effort.

Why not put in a 426 or a 450?

yeah u can do it without the kit..just custom make some mounts..a couple other things might have to be modified but i dont think it would be that hard

Would I get the complete wiring system from a 250r? Will anything be in the way of the kickstarter?

i have a CR250 in a 400ex frame, and the vibration cracks the frame a lot, but its very fast, in a straight line it will almost keep up with a CR250 dirtbike

adam sick did it... i know theres some old topics about 2 years ago on this... he built a 400ex that he could put a yz426 and a 250r motor in with just the switch over the motor mounts... it was pretty cool...

250r motor shouldnt vibrate anymore than the 400ex motor..just dont use a cr250 motor because it isn't counterbalanced

tell mee something guys you all say that it would vibrate bad with a CR engine in a EX frame well then tell mee why all dirt bikes don't have counter balancers and work fine without????just rubber mount it and it and it would be fine:blah:

It doesnt affect a dirtibike because the vibrations travel down through the front forks.

Also why would you put a 250r motor into a 400ex, just stick with the darn R !
