400ex or predator?? help!

just yesterday my dad went to our local motorcycle and atv shop and was talking to the owner about getting mt 400ex up graded to either a 440 or 426 just getting the info... when my dad arrived to pick me up he asked me a shocking ? would i like to have a 2004 troylee design predator or my 400ex upgraded because they would cost about the same to get the upgraded to trade my 400 and some money and in the long run the predator probly wouldnt have engine trouble like the 400 with the engine work..... so :( can someone help me out what do you think? i mean i have grown attached and love my 400 but what should i do... any help or comments?

If you wanna race a non-open class, stick with the EX. If youre not gonna race or race an open class, get the Predator.

well we atually went to a trck and i was killin everyone on my 400 and my brothers predator was shotoing sideways and he was afraid to jump anything

predators are a pain to dial in for different tracks with suspension and stuff, stick to the 400ex its got alot better ergos and weighs alot less and with a 440 or 426 built motor it will smoke a predator anywhere.

I have both a 400 and Predator. The 400 is good no matter what you do. But if you are looking to kick it up in the power dept the Predator will shine. After riding the Predator adn going back to the 400, my 400 seems rather timid. If you get the Predator I recommend getting new rears at that time. Now if this is an 04 you might be ok from what I have heard with the shortened swing arm and fine tuning of the rear suspension. If you plan on racing you might look into gettig the front rezzies for the front shocks, they are compression adjustable. I race XC with my predator and its only draw back is is that it is wider than a 400 ex by about 2 iches.

Id suggest the 400ex because the predator is a very uncomfortable ride and has a lack of low end

U put a 13T counter sprocket on the front and you have one mean predator.

well, i love my 400 and i guess i will i just stay with it... i love it :P and my brother doesnt know i have the chance to get a predator so i guess next time when he is blabbing about how good his predator is and how i am jelous i'll just tell him i had the chance to get a predator and i turned it down with ease
