about the best deal you are going to find is full retail. I work at the dealer and they won't even sell me one for under full retail!

how about the fees after full retail ,i thought 7200.00 out the door would have been fair but 6200.00 thats only 200.00 above what i paid for my 400ex in 2000 _____who did you know__colby?:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

You payed $6000 for a 400ex:eek:. AS far as who I know, I know everybody:D No this guy discounts everything. It is pretty easy to get a good price when the guy at the dealership thought I was talking about a new 4x4 model:rolleyes:

is that with tax or with out tax? my dealer quoted me 5999.99 before tax and the hrc kit. i am paying around 6700 otd. price. and then another 100 for my state tax. i am buying it from mississippi but i live in tennessee so our tax is higher and i have to pay a little more on that but i think i am getting a fair price. my dealer better not go back on his price. i got it in writing so i feel good about it. i got the second one coming. he told me i could not buy it until i get a vin number. i wanted to go ahead and purchase it so i can get a couple of the notes out of the way.

I'm the first on the list at Bartlesville Cycle Sports, in NE Oklahoma. It's being shipped out Dec.31st. Sticker price is $5,799 ,out the door $6,300. That is with my $200 dollar deposit, and I can't wait to get on this thing!!!!!!HONDA ALL THE WAY!!!!!

I put a deposit on mine in early November, I was second on their list. The out the door cost was $6125. (in wrighting) arival date is mid January. In Missouri you pay sales tax when you title it so that will be extra although I will get sales tax credit from selling my 400ex.

the dealers out here in Utah won't budge off retail. I've even bought a lot of bikes from them. I didn't have to pay retail for my YFZ and I'm certainly not paying retail for a TRX. I guess I'll have to wait until demand catches up or just keep buying Yamaha's. Those are some great deals out there and I'd really like to have one of each. I even would buy 3 or 4 of them and they still won't give me a deal.

yeh the two dealers i talked to said they are going full retail at 6499.00 plus the talkto fees dealer this dealer that fees, tax and any other fee they can put in!! this is in jax fl. theres a dealer in st augustine fl. that will discount the talk to fees(dealer prep) but hes gonna go full retail because all the other dealers are going full tilt on price! might need to move up north to get a deal!! :(:( :(

Some of these prices posted are bull. Some are at or below dealer cost. Now you tell me, who, even after a fifth of whiskey would sell anything at a loss or slim margin when there is a waiting list. Total BS.

lukester720
12-16-2003, 12:52 PM
I asked one of the local dealers and he said the companys price for the yfz is like 5949 dollars. I've also heard elsewhere the 450r is something like 5549 or 5649 dollars.

Kwatts? Is that at Diamond?? That place is a rip off......If you want to save about a thousand dollars, travel to WV...Petersburg I heard is going for like 5700.00

MX#9
12-16-2003, 01:03 PM
Must make all their money selling moonshine in WV. They sure as heck won't make any selling 450r's. I'll repeat, total BS.

OTD, at least IMO, is when it is in your truck and you are heading down the road....titling, fees and other BS all inclusive.

Right?

My YFZ was $7000 OTD w/48 month Y.E.S. (yamaha ext. service).

Plus, I got a 50% discount on all access. purchased that day and a 30% discount from then on.

lukester720

The prices they are quoting are base model the tires, rims, and plastics are extra.jk

kwatts400
12-16-2003, 02:10 PM
YLW, I'm sure that $5700 is before all the setup fees. That price just seems a little bit unrealistic to me. Besides, I don't want to have to trailer the cbr down to West Virginia to trade it in. The price I got was from all three honda dealers in the area, they all say msrp + setup.

YLW400
12-16-2003, 02:12 PM
Well MX#9, the one place must be doing something right, they are the largest, I repeat largest Polaris dealer on the East Coast ; ) Most units out the door........

YLW400
12-16-2003, 02:16 PM
It does sound unrealistic, but this is an example here. In December of 2001, I got a quote from Diamond on a 400. It was 5999.00 I honestly don't remember if that was before or after fees, either way, I got mine from Ridersville Honda in WV for 5200 out the door! ANd Diamond even had a wait!! I am telling you, they are a RIP OFF. DO what you gotta do, I was just trying to help out ; )

12-16-2003, 05:04 PM
What is the waiting list like at Ridersville Honda. It looks like I could be bumped up to #2 at Diamond. It's definately something to think about. I do wonder if that low price would affect the trade value of my cbr. I think travel time to Berkeley Springs is about three hours for me.

It does seem interesting, some of these deals. I can tell you I have contacted every Honda dealer in my area (6 of them) and they all said they won't budge off of retail and I need 3 or 4 of them. Doesn't make much sense.

Nausty
12-17-2003, 02:03 AM
dang 5400 otd for my 400ex. 6200 doesn't seem that bad though for a 450r.

KAWSAM62
12-17-2003, 06:46 AM
hey couple of you guys claim to know dealer cost? post it !!!! no harm no fowl ,it wont affect anything at all except to help fellow exriders judge if the deal they are getting is fair! everyone knows the dealer needs to make money to be in bussiness and ill pay them a fair price for a quality product but they shouldnt have the right to rape the customer just cause they can and usually will on a sale so post it and we call all own 450rs!!

YLW400
12-17-2003, 08:18 AM
I don't care what "dealer cost" is......Who cares if it is 7,000.00, it only benefits you to get it cheaper. So the people who insist they are full of crap, go ahead and spend 6800, or whatever on them cause you are stubborn...lol:D I am just trying to help people out by saving them a few bucks

Thats the thing Kwatts, he was saying it is going to be around February.....There is another place in I believe Petersburg, WV, which is about 4.5 hours from here, that is from what I hear even cheaper.......I am not sure of the name of that place though, if i find out, I will PM you...

Anybody who says they bought a quad for x amount otd out of state is not done paying yet and making their deal sound to good to be true, because it is.. They must pay sales tax 6.5-9.5%, except Nevada, and registration in their own state when the quad is registered. Oh, unless you own a farm and are tax exempt...

If I could buy it in WVA or DE (no sales tax) and bring it home to VA then OTD would be my total cost. Never heard of registering ATV's, some stupid states must do that! So no taxes or registration if I buy it out of State would be awesome! I am not sure if I'll get one for a while (450R), as I like my ATC250r and 400ex and my wife would almost shoot me if I bought another 4 wheeler!

Tri-County Honda is the name JC That's where I bought my 400 from. I did all the finances over the phone then drove 4 hours there and picked it up. They were very nice people to deal with.

I've done some research and found out that dealer cost is 5200 and that anyone buying out of state is crazy.Sure it sounds good to not pay any taxes out of state, but when you go to get your title you pay 4-5 timkes more because it is an out of state title and is a long process after that. After you finally get the title you still have to pay taxes(except Nevada) no mater what.Think about it .......what happens when you buy a used vehicle. You have to put a purchase price on the title before it's trancfered into your name. In that case you are going to have to pay Uncle Sam no matter what!:D  :D
