i would say maybe a 1/2 hp gain...it is mainly for better throttle response more then nething

done.less a cover for the rod inlet. should the two little pieces of casting be removed from the carb right before the venturi.

going to the 42 pilot and removing the choke helps with starting big time. this alone is worth the mod

i left those metal tabs there on mine in case i wanted to put the choke back. you should prob just remove them as this will help get rid of any turbulance caused by them in the airstream?????

lets put it this way, it's 20 degrees outside the other night, my brother completly stock 400 didn't even try to start, my 400 my 400 fired right up without hesitation, and it's the same way thru out the summer months, the chokes a piece of garbage get rid if it, even if it doesn't give you any more power, who cares it start a heck of alot easier, and that's all its worth to me :o

Yea, i took mine out and it started much easier without it and i threw in the 42 pilot. My throttle response got a little better too, i duno if it was the 42 or just takin out the choke?

All i know is that it runs much better without it.

Hmmm, this sounds like a mod for me to do too. Easy enough for even my dumbazz apparently. Now to find a 42 pilot jet.....lol!:D
