Are 250R and 400EX shocks the same length? Is the linkage the same? I have a 250R swingarm and am needing a shock an linkage.
Thanks for any help.

the 400 wont work due to different shock ends

the fronts will bolt right up, but you have to make a spacer for the rear. If you put 250 shocks on a 400 it will end up lowering it like 2 inches.

i wouldnt reccomend it the R and the 400 are differnt weights, the 400 is much heavier and your bike will not handle the way it is supposed to, if you get r shocks for a 400 then have them revalved your probably gonna be spending almost what it will cost to but the right shocks and they will be brand new.

Ok guys here is the deal. My bike is a 300ex that just yesterday afternoon I installed a 250R swingarm onto for the extra length. I have the original 300ex shock locaton on the 250r arm. But with the extra length (leverage) of the arm it is making my shock soft even on firmest setting. I am a bigger guy and am wanting to try something more firm and maybe longer. I know I probably will have to end up spending the money on an aftermarket shock but I am giving this a try first. That is why I was wondering about the 400ex shock (same length arm + heavier quad). Someone on a forum stated that a Yamaha Raptor shock worked better than a original shock on a 300ex. Would this work for me?
