Between the Air Box and the carburator on my 400EX there is a black tube that connects the two. On the side of the tube there is a plastic box with a rubber hose running into it. It looks like its designed to recycle crankcase fumes or something like that. My question is, what is in that plastic box, if anything. Or should it be entirely clean and empty

that is the boost bottle and yes it should be clean

what the hell! i thought boost bottles were for 2 strokes! :confused: boy i feel inteligent! what exactly does it do???

dont worry he;s retarded there is no boost bottle on a 400ex they are only two strokes. I know what he's talkin about but i dont know what it does im pretty sure its a breather for the crank.

hold up i was thinkin of the wrong thing...it has to do with crank case ventelation

The manual calls it a 'crankcase breather storage tank':huh

right...crank case breather...crank case ventelation...same difference
