I just got my new '03 250EX last weekend and what a blast it is. I am new to the sport riding so I figured I better start small and move up. I am very happy with the 250 overall I just would like to get a little better acceleration for now. I would like to keep around $500 with this shot of mods and it seems possible. I am leaning towards a K&N filter, pre-filter, Re-jetting, White Bros Pipe and 20" Holeshots. Sound pretty good? Other suggestions? Also where is the cheapest place online to order stuff from?

How well will the stock suspension hold up to jumps over time? How much air? SO far I only pushed it about 4-5ft high and it seems to soak that up really well even with my #200 butt on it. How much higher can I push it without destroying the susp? Thanks in advance. :D

with those list of mods, youll definitly accelerate faster, but you might loose some top end from the tires. i wouldnt jump it too much higher, even though i did on the recon...:p .....

Bigg Pimpin, you're on the fast track now. Those list of mods will wake up that lil 250! When I piped and filtered my old 250, it gave it a lot more bark and take off. With the 20" Holeshots you will get plenty more low end blip. The 250 can only go so fast, so the low end is what you can really change.

Good luck to ya man and welcome to the wonderful world of quads!:D

i'd have them adjusted at the 15 hr mark. after that, maybe anywhere from every 25-100 hrs?

I'd go pipe, filter, jet kit, and 20 inch razrs. Razr's are the best.:D

i recommend going with the same size (in height) as the factory tires, which i don't know what that is on a 250. you will lose speed in the upper gears and ground clearance with smaller tires. with larger tires you will probally lose torque everywhere. i would think the hmf pipe would be your best choice. i prefer uni filter for dusty conditions but a K&N should be fine in sand. i would not go higher than that on stock suspension. also, don't forget jets. i perfer to just buy individual keihin jets, but many people just buy the jet kits.

get an HMF full system, jet it, a twin air filter, 20X11-9 holeshots in the rear. you really dont need fronts. ull be right at $500 and ull be set.

DONT GET 22 INCH REAR TIRES. THE 20'S ACCELERATE ALOT BETTER AND THE BIKE WILL PULL EVERY GEAR BETTER WITHOUT TROUBLE. YOU REALLY DONT LOOSE TOPEND AND YOU WILL FIND THE BIKE PULLS 5TH GEAR A WHOLE LOT BETTER. look at Maxxis Razrs as well. there a great tire.
