Linking pics within exriders posts

I was trying to link a picture in one thread to another thread. I have done this before, I think, but it isn't working now.

I right click on the pic, select properties, copy the link and paste in the second thread using the IMG tag. What shows up is a link to the pic. What am I doing wrong, or is this not possible?

I don't think you can do it to the images that are attatched to the forum because they are loaded to the server. If you have the pictures that are uploaded from a different site (imagestation) you can link them from one thread to another.
