need help

i got a 2001 250ex i just sold it but the kid isnt getting it untill christmas. today i went to start it up, havnt rode it in a while and i was just letting it idle giving it gas it would run good for like 30 seconds then it just bogg down and stop. whats making it do this? i got to get it running before i give it to the people i sold it to. the gas valve is on it just wont stay running

the fuel might be old. you could try draining the tank and carb. you might need to clean the carb up a bit if it is really old. also, make sure your not leaving the choke on or it will die when it is warmed up.

first things first, you may want to spend the money and put a new plug in it , and drain the gas and replace with good stuff

yea most likely the gas.........happened alot to me on the recon, kinda cuz mobil gas stations around here suck, never have good gas and only one is on the trails..........
