Sorry I don't have experience with a 16T but I do have a 416 with a 15/36 combo and am very pleased with it. Lots of grunt down low still with a nice mid hit and awesome top speed. I ride the dunes and I'm 6 foot 225 pounds and this set up works very well for me.

A 16 tooth will give you a little more top speed but takes away from you accelleration and torque. If your racing for a long distance i would say go with it but if you do hillclimbs and woods riding i wouldnt. if anything i would go a tooth or two smaller in the back.

it also depends what tires your running.

do you have 18's 20's or 22's in the rear. this makes a big diff.

I run 22's with stock gearing and I like how each gear is a little longer. A 16 for me would be way too tall

I have a 16 tooth on my 416. I'm still running the stock 20'' tires it works dam good. I have allot more top end and olny lost a little low end. Just pick one up the only around $15 its worth it :D

i love my 16tooth on my 406. i have one inch wider shredder tires in the front. i don't advise it. they really slow you down in the upper gears. i guess they are too heavy. its not that big of a deal unless you worry about speed up there. i do, so its a factor for me.

also tire weight makes a biff diff also.

stock tires are like 5 lbs each. my tires are 18.5 each. HUGE diff.

plus the weight of the axle and chain should be takin in to consideration

I would recommend you trying it out, and letting us know what you find out. Like y2k400ex said, a 16 tooth sprocket is only about $15. A very inexpensive test if you ask me!:D

Good luck!:macho
