I just got a 250r this weekend that needs a top end rebuild. The guy that I got it from didnt even know what to mix it to, I guess that is why it needs a rebuild. The gas tank says to mix it 20 to 1 but I think that is rich. It will be bored 1 mm over stock. Does anyone know what I should mix the gas at. Also I was wondering what the torque specs are on the head. There is no point in buying a $30 manual just to see what the torque specs are.

Most people mix at 32:1.
The tank only says 20:1 because of the poor technology of oils in the 80's thats what they needed to run on, todays better technology means it should be mixed 32:1, or leaner for some oils.

I mix one small bottle of mc-1 to five gallons of gas, I think it is something like 50:1. Get the Clymer, its money well spent.

Most likely it's a 16oz bottle, this will give you a 40:1 mix.
Here's the formula. There are 128oz in 1 gallon, so 5 gallons has 640oz. So you are mixing 640oz gas to 16oz oil.
640/16=40. So you're mixing 40:1 40oz of gas to every 1oz of oil.
Almost everybody I know runs 32:1, but you're probably safe with 40:1.
32:1 is the easiest to mix, just remeber 20 OZ to 5 gallons.
or 10 oz to 2.5 gallons
duner is right, the manual is the bible.
but if You think your smarter then the bible.
here you go all the specs you need......
