Anyone know any tips/tricks to get a 400EX to start better in cold weather without pull starting it? It's a 440, 11:1, also got a hi rev box witch I herd can add to the problem? Thanks for any help.

#1) You cant "pull start" a 400ex... nothing to pull

Try using the choke! Thats why they put it there.. to help start the quad.

Tapp the throttle about 3 times to get some fuel moving and then try pushing the start button.

Thats what I do anyway..... other people might have better ideas.

Actually you can pull start the 400;) With another vehical. I know what you ment though DaveEX7:D

The high compression piston and possibly the rev box are working against you for starting. Have you upped the pilot jet? May need to go to a 42 or 45.

Yes, use the choke, stab the throttle all the way a few times (3-6)and hit the start button.

i put it on choke n pump the gas repedetly like half way while hitin the startor works great

i take a hair dryer and blow on the cylender for about 3 mins. Then when it starts, i let it idle for about 5-10. if i dont the quad just wont take off...

Exactly. Change the pilot. Start with a 42 and work your way up. Hit the gas like JOEX suggested, that should get it started...if you have enough gas!:D

When I had my WB-rev box the motor would not start unless battery had a FULL charge........."sold it"....
