i am thinking about getting hand guards for my 400EX, but not exactly sure what to get...its between UFO Oklahoma's w/ extenders, Acerbis Rally Brush w/ spoilers, some other brand that are a cheaper imitation of the cyrca atv bend guards and well, thats pretty much it. Could you give your opinions on these guards and some pics of them too. Thanx

Good question....I just rolled mine over last week and broke my brake line, where it goes into the resivior (they are aftermarket brakelines) and I would like to have a set myself to prevent this from happening again.....And something that looks decent...

I have the Acerbis Rally Pros and I'm very happy with them. I've kissed a tree really badly one time in my first XC race, they held up big time. However, if you're into freestyle or MX I'd recommend something that doesn't attach to the end of the handlebars (in really tight turns or freestyle the end of the guards will get in the way of your hand).

Thats true, I never thought about them getting in the way when cornering ( I race strictly mx)...Thats something to think about...

I have a pair just like those but they are made by Emgo. I haven't had any problems with them getting in the way.

infantry317, do the balls on the clutch and brake lever touch the guards? I have the EMGO handguards on the 250EX and I love them but the balls on the levers touch the guards...i find when taking a sharp turn, the guards help me alot cause they give you something to pull on when leaning or just turning. My freind has a pair of mx guards and every time i lean and turn, the bar ends hook under my chest protector. infantry could you take a pic of the guards while sitting on the bike and a top view if possible?

I got the powermadd hand guards, and they are awsome. Haven't hit anything with them yet, or rolled, but they do a good job at deflecting tree branches, and the cold wind! They also look good to;)
