How many throttle shots before startup

How many shots of gas on startup do you do???I just got my 416 together tonite .....gonna set the valves in morning and was wondering how many shot's of 100 octane should give the ole' gal before we have fire in the hole..........thanks

whenever I go to start mine I always pump the throttle 5 or 6 times..

i do it only once or twice, works fine.. in the cooler weather i give er' like 4

I hit it two full times and it cranks right up every time.

i just put it on full choke & hold down the starter button & feather it until it fires up then i hold it diown & let it rev a little tiny bit for like 2 minutes then i take choke off & still hold it down for like 30 seconds then take off & rev lightly for another minute ;)

I'll usually hit it about 2 times then as it starts to come to life I keep hitting it as needed to keep her running. Start pumping it to many times and you will flood it.
