A few 250x questions

A friend of mine has a 250X. Is it in very good condition and he just got it bored to a 300 and has a Fatboy 4 and K&N airfilter/Powerpack thing. He says he is making around 25-30HP and will stomp all over my 03 Warrior. I know the Warrior is a Yamaha but just let that go:blah: .. My Warrior has Yoshi pipe, K&N, rejetted, Razrs, bigger front sproket. I have beaten stock 400exs before but my real question is, do you think he could beat me and is he really puttin down that much power? I was thinking that a 300ex doesnt make a lot of power even with a pipe to beat a Warrior thats modded and he says he will stomp me. Is this true? I ben tryin to tell him no but he just goes by those adds talkin abut 20% gain here and 20% gain there. I was like BS. Any help please?

those ads for the power increases are only for certain areas, not the whole thing. they also put the percent of the most gain of a certain quad. but, i think it would be pretty even in a drag, but i also heard the 250x's were faster then the 300's, so he might be faster.

it seems hard to believe that u beat stock 400s but i guess its possible. my 250 is modded and i know some people have told me that they had a hard time staying with me on thier 400. But it may have alot to do with rider. I never rode a warrior, but iv ridden with them and they seem decent, but i think a 400 would take em easily..jmo

I kno it sounds hard to believe but I beat him once. Thats when he first got it and that was his first quad..The guy used to have a CR250..So it kinda doesnt count. I am not really worried about beating him becuse I can just get out my `Shee and toast em but I was just wondering if he really is makin that power and if a modded 250x are faster than a Warrior...

Some of it depends on the type of race your talking about, ie MX, drag, CC, etc. I have a 250X with TC pipe, TC MX cam, TC 290cc big bore w/ 12.5:1 comp. piston, lightened flywheel, plus various suspension mods including a 400EX front end conversion w/ Houser LT front end. I ride strictly MX and honestly I can remember the last time a Warrior modded or not came close to beating me on an MX track. Slightly and highly modified 400EX's are another story! But then again, alot of it depends on the rider as well. Just go race him and find out! Good luck and have fun.;)

250X's can be made very fast.I don't find it hard to believe that it could beat a 400EX...I had a Sparks 250X and it would beat many 400's.But man what a machine to start....still have the indentions on my shin:mad:
