Just browse thru about 4 or 5 pages in this forum (powertrain) you'll find tons of info about 416 kits. Every question you have has been answered already..

YOu can buy the parts and build your own or send it to an engine builder..

You boys with the 416 kits and the 11:1 or 11:2, what type of gas are you running?

50:50 mix of pump 91 and VP C-12 110 leaded. Makes it 100 octane. Probably could get away with 95 octane or so, but a few extra dollars I don't mind. Some here say they run on straight 91, but I'm not that brave.

We use Sunoco Purple (110 ). We used to use Sunoco Turbo Blue (110 +Oxygenated) but on the dyno it was all over the place. The purple made more consistent pulls.

I think we could use something with less octane but I think it runs cooler with this fuel. And at this point why mess with a good thing.

I'm with jshtex on this one. The lead definately makes for a cooler engine and better lubrication. If it costs me an extra $4 bux a tank, so be it. At least I wont burn up my motor.
