was out tearin' it up the other day and came across a pretty big puddle in the path. i slowed to go through it and as soon as i got a 1/4 the way thruogh my front tires sank 3 feet and i got thinking that i cant turn around or pull myself out so i went for it. finally my tires were spinning for about 5 minutes and i decided there was no way i was riding out i left off the throttle and the water went imediatly down the exhaust and it stalled. so i pulled myself out and there was no way i was pushing the bike that far home so i startyed it up. is there a chance water got into the jug and can this really f**k with anything???

If it started right up the answer would be No. Even if you had to pull the plug and pump a little water out of the cylinder your probably okay. The single best thing you did was start it although next time I would first pull the plug and turn it over to ensure your not trying to compress water. If this had been the case you would still be walking.

If it is running then you are OK. You just don't want to start it with water in the cylender and have it hydro lock. That will bend rods and such and then it wouldn't run.

Probably a good idea to change the oil and filter.

Did any water get sucked into the airbox? If so might not be a bad idea to at least remove the drain plug. If it was dirty silty water you may want to remove and fully clean the carb.

Ya oil and filter would be a good idea. Clean the carb. Did it start right back up, and ever cut out at all?

Good call on the oil and filter. You can check it and see if it is milky at all. If not it is probably OK but still not bad insurance to change it anyway. If the water gets into the air box it really can't clog up the carb very well other than the air bleeds. If it was running fine there probably isn't any problems with the carb.

might want to clean the air filter too if H20 was in the airbox.

I would not have waited a week to do this. If I flooded my machine I would have it apart as soon as I got home to prevent rust...
