Ill be there I think i might come out on top this next race if my quad stays together meaning all the wiring what class you racing huges?? Yeah i just bought half inch studs, works shocks with rezzies, and someother goodies to help me out in the race. Do those studs really rip up your tires like can you take em out when your done the february race and still run em.

jlhughes750
12-05-2003, 01:09 PM
I run A class!

never used studs, not starting now! not for 1 race, plus last year was fine with out them.

u still gonna run C?

If u need a hand with anything let me know, we're not far away..
I've been runnin these D6 harescrambles for a while!!

Kilabanshee
12-05-2003, 01:14 PM

Sounds like we will have some new people out there to chat with. Joe I think the deal is going from B to A class you have to class up, but C to B is whatever you feel like.

Kilabanshee
12-11-2003, 02:54 PM
Derno you gonna be racing on the side me in c-class at dutchman??? Tell me what you riding before the race and ill pull upside you on the line. Why were u all the way to the left on the line ide think that would be the worst place to be. Did you see that stock 400 pull the holeshot lmao thats my buddie kaschak hes pretty damn good on that think for what hes got done to it.

After i think 2-3 races iam moving up to b class what about you derno??

Derno24
12-11-2003, 07:45 PM
Joe I got them give me a call and I'll hook you up. Killa: I think I will either run C or B not sure yet. I plan on having some fun out there. I make no promises about finishes because alot can happen during a race.

That Race at the dutchman I got there about 5 mins before it started. If I had the same lines as you guys I would have pulled that holeshot. I was far left and still was in 3rd or 4th by the first corner. They don't matter much you have to finish that way.

ex kid
12-12-2003, 07:16 AM
yea i got that start on tape. ron was about 4th. his dale is probably the nicest bike in that class. there was some yellow 400 out front.

joe yo a dumbazzzz

Kilabanshee
12-12-2003, 04:00 PM
Yeah when i hit that tire one of my grounds wires came lose and i had to have a track guy tighten it up really fast costing me a few positions. Next race i plan on having nothin rigged soo i dont have to worry about anything.

Derno24
12-12-2003, 05:04 PM
If you think it was hooked up before check the Dale out next year. :macho

Joe Congrat on the 6th overall for the dist 6 series. You didn't even make alot of the races. Imagine how far ahead you'll be next year when you hit them all.

Kilabanshee
12-12-2003, 05:41 PM
Dude race b class cause look your racing a 440 c-dale agains all these warriors and 400exs and stuff. The only other fast quad was that rappy and the kfx with the elkies. Ill think iam gonna start racing b also after about 2 more races.

Derno24
12-12-2003, 05:45 PM
I let a little secret out I have only been riding a quad for about a 1 1/2 years and I am 31. Trust me I am not sandbagging if I stay there. Besides all year there was 2 other Dales in c class along with several other well built quads. That last race most of the regulars weren't there.

Like I said I have to re-evaluate where I want to go next year.

12-12-2003, 06:22 PM

Kilabanshee

12-14-2003, 04:36 PM
I'll give you a better location and time. From the Franklin Mills Mall to Dutchman at 70 mph is about 1hr 45 mins. 2hrs if you do the speed limit.

Depends on how far you live from the turnpike.

I can live with that.

Kilabanshee

Derno, Can we switch quads for one race.... I wanna rip your dale and see if i can win lmao. Nah ill probobly race my beast or a buddys 250r not really sure yet but i plan on putting all my money into my beast soo i can hopefully get my name and get noticed around the track.

Derno24
12-17-2003, 08:04 PM
Trust me on this. Don't worry about racing so much. Making a name for yourself isn't that important. Just go out and have fun. The wins will come.

There is no such beast as 2 stroke C. There is the blaster Class. Which is 230cc or less. Joe runs a 250 ex and does pretty well too. Now Joe do you need handlebars or what. I have my new tag 2's so I have the others freed up.

Kilabanshee
12-18-2003, 07:43 PM
O its just called blaster class lmao.. Ahh iam a newbie but like i said those guys didnot seem that well soo joe your gonna race in c with me and derno.

ex kid
12-19-2003, 07:37 AM
na no new bike for me yet. 0-230 is a B class. i could race 4 stroke c or b but theres too much of a displacement advantage. i might race 4 B at rausch tho.

yea ron no rush on the bars. first race at DMAN ill pick em up. u mess with your 400 any more?

Derno24
12-19-2003, 10:41 AM
The Z400 is just getting the Houser steering stem with new bars and the hand guards.

The dale is getting all the fun.

Kilabanshee
12-19-2003, 01:35 PM
Derno, what all are you doing to your c-dale dont you have enough on it as it is. I think they should have a 440cc limit no none of them damn preds and craptors would race in our class. Yeah its kinda nice though i really dont mind much its all in the fun. Yeah i got my shocks in today sometime soon i think iam going out an byeing herrmann racing arms, then scoops cutting my fenders i took off all the lighting trying to make it as light weight as possible.

ex kid
12-19-2003, 03:03 PM
they deffinatley shouldnt have a displacment limit in 4 stroke A, B or C. same with 2 stroke A and B. its much more rider than bike. that dude jared was on a 400ex and whooped everyones ***. bad too. he was catching and passing guys from 4 stroke B by the end of the race. u just gotta ride faster. my class starts behind 4 stroke C at some races like rausch creek and jack frost and every time we were they we caught at passed 95% of the whole class. u could win 4 stroke B or C on a stock Z if you were fast enough.

ex kid
12-19-2003, 03:06 PM
and dude cutting your front fenders in XC racing, your just asking for mud. takein your lights off dont help much either. u save like 2 lbs. on a quad you cant feel it. same with exhaust. i see guys come in my shop and buy a yosh carbon fiber silencer cause they say its gonna save weight(they do look cool tho). your on a 400 pound quad 8 pounds dont make a difference.

pineway
12-19-2003, 03:38 PM
I ride a 300ex and with my light on its a pain to see down in front of you. Would i still be better off with it on?

Derno24
12-19-2003, 03:45 PM
Cutting your fenders is very bad. You think it gets muddy without them being cut wait till you take them off. As far as people winning on light machines. Chris Borich ran a BONE STOCK no mod Z400 at Ft of the Mountain and handed out *** whoopings to everyone. Took the overall. Granted he added stuff down the road, but he never did anything to the stock motor.

I am not looking to make my Dale faster just adding things to make it handle better. Besides I still don't have alot of mods in my quad compared to yours.

Ok maybe a little more. I don't have anything done to the motor.

Kilabanshee
12-19-2003, 04:06 PM
Yeah i need to rejet my carb its running way to rich which makes it hard to start sometimes but usually it starts right up. Well your running a 440cc motor against a 416ex you should be killing me with all the stuff on yours i think next race i should do pretty weel because i made a small blueprint of the track when i was done my race. Yeah i didnot cut my fenders yet not quite sure if its worth it or not, i did take out the headlights and back tail light because i really dont wont them getting broken anyways. Yeah soon as i get my suspension maybe my arms from herrmann i think ill be doing pretty well. Derno are you going to do anything more to your motor?? I think sometime in february ill have enough money to bye an fcr 39milli which should really give my quad a nice boost. Yeah really looking forward to racing and this time iam not gonna make that stupid mistake of hitting that tire!!!! Derno me and u should have a little 5 dollar bet on who pulls the hole just for fun.

Derno24
12-19-2003, 04:47 PM
I'll tell you right now if they do the running starts and I get a better starting position I will take the holeshot. If it is a dead engine start forget it. The dale is hit or miss with a cold start. I am working on correcting that though.

I can't believe you drew a map of the course. Besides Flying dutchman runs the course the other direction normally.

Kilabanshee
12-19-2003, 05:37 PM
Yeah well dude ill tell you know my quad is like a ravage ape off the line if my tires arenot all gumed up with shioot. Did you see where i was since i was last on the line i was stuck in this deep *** mud all the way to the right hand side and still got 4th in the whole. Hahah did you see the dude *****en at me cause my quad wouldnot get in neutral and i had no idea about the hand think lmao. Ahh next race should be alot better is that usually how its set up or was that time different.

Derno24
12-19-2003, 05:42 PM
The course is run the other direction and usually they are dead engine starts. Each course is a little different.

Kilabanshee
12-19-2003, 06:39 PM
ahh iam liking the dead engine start cause soon as mine is warm it starts in about a half a second and iam off. Do they ever have you off to the side and run to your quad at a dead engine start??? So normally we would just be going the opposite way around the track derno?? Pm me derno and give me ur cell phone number i want to talk to you more about the race.

Derno24
12-19-2003, 06:48 PM
Man I'll PM you my cell #, but you have gotta relax these races don't start for a month and a half.

Most of the courses you are on the bike. Back of the mt they make you stradle the front tire.

Kilabanshee
12-19-2003, 08:26 PM
Yeah i just wanna get an idea of where these other tracks are and such. Pluss how the track is set up and all anythings a big help.

Kilabanshee
12-21-2003, 05:15 PM
I got my works shocks on today and wow i really think these are gonna make my ride alot better in that race soak up those jumps and all nicely cant wait.

Kilabanshee
12-25-2003, 10:46 AM
Derno it was nice talking to you thanks for the help.... Yeah i dunno why but my quads electrical connections always seem to be crapey soo iam going to gove over all them make sure my quad will keep running at the race.

Derno24
12-25-2003, 06:34 PM
No problem. We should catch up so you can show me around that place you were telling me about.

A trick for connections is to shot a little dia-electric grease in them helps make a water tight connection.

Kilabanshee
12-25-2003, 07:14 PM
Yeah i cleaned out all my connections today with this wiring cleaner seemed to work pretty nicely. Derno which place was i talking about that i said ide show you around???? Yeah i just got some some gift cards to montgomery ville cycle soo ill see if i can bye maybe a new set or razor 2's for the backs.

jlhughes750
12-31-2003, 10:57 AM
suprises?????? none from me, R when its dry and YFZ when its sloppy!!!!!! thats my set up!! Been putttin a few hours in every weekend.... Lookin to step it up and get focused this year, last year was a joke!! Look for some great new D6 Harescramble coverage this year in the MRA. by the way its www.mcracing.com

I can't wait till Feb. I've been riddin in the cold and wet every weekend. I'm gonna get a jump on the points with a good run in Feb..... After screwing around most of the year and only runnin the last half of 03, i ended up 4th in points in the 2 stroke A class. I've won the championship in the 4 stroke A class a few years ago its great runnin for points. I have not raced a season for points since 99, next year should be fun!!!!! They have combined the A class now and advanced 12 B racers up to A. That should make for at least 20-25 A class racers everyweek. That means bigger payout and farther back in the field!!!! The starts will be a lil crowded but that never bothers me.. I like the starts!!!

later, J

Kilabanshee
12-31-2003, 11:02 AM
Hey how much do you get in payouts???? My friend was racing 2 stroke b and got 2nd place and forgot to ask how much he got back... Hughes how much payout do you get in A class????

Derno24
12-31-2003, 11:43 AM
I pretty sure B class doesn't get a payout. Only A class and Vet. B is still trophy only.

JL: Where ya been riding at? I have been going out about every other weekend and riding for a couple hours. Just curious if your heading in the same area I am in.

Kilabanshee
12-31-2003, 02:19 PM
I saw the payout sign on the 2 stroke b list i think everyone who go above 5th place got a sum of money back. Iam thinking about racing b class in 1-2 of the races.

jlhughes750
12-31-2003, 03:03 PM
no $ in B class....... gotta run A class

Derno: I practice at my own track, got me a 2 miler in the back yard.. I wanna get up to Tower and be your guest one of these weeks!!!! The wifes away for the month so i'll be riding everyweekend from now till the end of Jan.... get ahold of me Derno!! I even got a few night laps in last week!!! Kinda weird runnin full race pace in the dark with lights!!!!!!

jlhughes750
01-14-2004, 10:21 PM
well, in 95 they had that event...its a great place!!!!

then i guess the club tht holds it and the land owner decided not to have ATV's till 99 and we had a huge turn out!!! Last year it was a mistake on the schedule, so lets keep out fingures crossed, maybe we;ll go back again!!! I hope, I won the championship both years we raced there 95 and 99!!! sounds like good luck!

Hey Jay, my wife will be at as many of the races I can talk her into. I know she will be there on the 8th. Another thing you should note is whomever you use should probably have a digital camera to save on the cost of film and also for the volume of pics they will have to take.

Jay I will be going to Rausch or Tower this Sunday. You game? No work for me and I am looking for a good ride.

what kinda track is this? i havent been able to ride to much over the winter so if i go ill probably just take it easy so i dont screw my quad up. I heard taht the track is real flat, no big hills or anything. Is that right? thanks for any replies.

Derno: not this weekend, gotta go away!!!

Also I got the Dig. camera for the pics...

Pineway: It is flat MX style track with lots of turns... Kinda a TT/MX type track but we run big tanks and XC tires... There are a few kickers and drainage ditches that will throw you a surprise...

Derno u got heat in the trailer??????????

Derno24
01-20-2004, 02:33 PM
I got heat in there, but not the greatest. Propane space heater. I want to get Kero, but want to make sure I won't burn myself down in the process.

Can somebody tell me if D6 harescrambles uses different color number plates for the various classes, like the GNCC does? It will be my first year racing D6. I will be racing in the Open C class. I sent my application for a D6 number, but I didn't see anything on the D6 harescrambles website about number plate colors. Also, is that how it works? Do they assign you a number and you put three number plates on your quad, along with the numbers, and go race? Any help would be appreciated.

ex kid
01-25-2004, 03:44 PM
you dont need numbers or number plates for your bike.
youll be assigned a different number every race.
they give you three small stickers 1 for your helmet at the checkpoint
1 on the tank
1 on the nose.

Thanks. I raced one race last season. I raced at the BMER race in July, and they gave me a sticker for my quad and for my helmet. I didn't know if it would be different when I applied for D6 harescrambles. Do they assign someone one number to use for every race when they send in a D6 application and D6 fees? Also, was the two-stroke B class eliminated and will I be able to race a 400EX at one race and a 250R at another in the Open C class?

Derno24
01-25-2004, 04:22 PM
They opened all the classes up. Now there is no 2 stroke and 4 stroke classes. It is A open, B open, C open.

KEEP THE FOAM FILTER FOR WOODS RACING DUDE OR YOUR JUST ASKIN FOR TROUBLE. make sure you dont have too much oil on it. and jet the bike accordinly.

Listen to EX kid....The K&N allows way too much crud to get in the carb and motor. More power now, more bills later.

Hah, Yeah I have a question for you guys. I was running a 155 main jet in with a 42 pilot and it was actuly running quite nice but hasnot been started with the uni in with this jetting soo i have no idea how this would run. My quad was apart soo I decided to throw in a 152 because the 155 was making it run pretty rich. My quad seems to be bogging down alot in high rpms, I think mainly because the uni isnot alowing alot of air to flow like my old k&n did. Do you think i should switch back to a k&n to solve the problem or just throw a couple sugestions down soo maybe my motor will be like it was before.

ex kid
01-27-2004, 07:39 AM
the piolet jet doesnt affect anything but idle. try the 152 main and take the lid off the airbox. u might want to drop even lower. the bike should run better with a bigger main jet because of the weather. i would try the 152 main and raise the clip on the neddle a notch or two to lean it out.

jlhughes750
01-27-2004, 08:12 AM
lean is mean......but its good to be rich....

152 sounds lean for this weather...is it stock...cam.piston etc.

if it starts, idles and gets off idle good.. then rip it down a straight pulling every gear.. then richen the main one..do it again.. then richen it ...etc.etc.etc. till its starts breakin up. then go back..you'll feel it start to pull in the top as u richen it up.....

less than 2 weeks till the Dman..

Kilabanshee
01-27-2004, 04:08 PM
I have a 416, hotcam, and soon alot more!!! I was running a 155 with a k&n and it was running pretty good, i looked at my plug and it looked to be running alittle rich. I changed the filter since my k&n was trashed to a uni filter, and leaned my main jet to a 152 figuring it wouldnot flow as much air as the k&n. I was riding with my air box lid and the quad didnot wanna move! I took the lid off and it woke up alittle but still bogged pretty bad at high rpms. I think iam just going to go back to the jetting it was before or just go and get a k&n and see how it runs with that. If it acts up with the 152 and the k&n ill just throw in the 155 i had before cause i know it ran ok with that in it.

Derno24
02-01-2004, 05:54 PM
Pineway.....If you need to I live in the same area and can help you out. Or even give a ride.

Easiest way is up the turnpike to the extension. Get off at the Lehigh Valley exit. take 78 west (I Think) to exit #19 (not exact on the number). At top of ramp make a right keep going till you see a flashing yellow light make left there and pinegrove is about 4-5 miles on the left.

Kilabanshee
02-01-2004, 08:19 PM
Yeah i think its mile marker six, then you will see the track on your left hand side.

pineway
02-02-2004, 07:24 AM
ok, Thanks Derno for the info. Been waiting for this race since before Christmas, cant wait.

jlhughes750
02-02-2004, 07:38 AM
Pineway, its 78W towards Harrisburg....then get off at old exit 7...its the exits for rt. 183....go right and take 183 up over the mountain... go to the bottom of the hill and you'll see a flashing light...thats rt. 895 go west(left) till you see the track on the left (abot 6 mile)........

good luck its gonna be a great day for racing sunny, dry and mid 70's I may even break out the vented gear...
