nock in the top of my motor

i had a nock and i adjusted the valves and it still nocks it sounds lie kti is comig nfromt he bottom and is like a piston slap or a loose connecting rod i am not sure any one ever have this problem and i also heard hondas have a litle tap but i wasnt sure if they did and idk what is wrong with it.

Does it knock while idling or only when you accelerate?

it nocks on both but mostly indleing

I had the cam gear bolts start to come out and hit my cam cover. It sounded like a nock or tap up high in the engine.

mine does that too i cant figure it out u put in 93 octane gas that helped

well if its more like a ticking then it might be the valves. Does it sound like theres something metal baning around in there or more like a "compression" knock. There might be carbon built up in the engine which can cause a "knock". Really without hearing it , its hard to say.

When you run low octane gas it will cause the Honda 400ex to ping, which sounds kind of like a knock. I would try using a higher octane gas at least 92. I always use about 100 or higher it will take care of the pinging noise.

Since you live in Pennsylvania, I am thinking you had freezing temperatures.

Does the noise quiet down after the engine warms up after about 10 minutes?

I would also check your oil level too.
