I have a magnum CDI on my 416 and haven't had any problems not sure if that is the question you are asking (cold weather starting) I would recommend one on a built motor.

We use a white brothers on my wifes 440 and it has performed perfectly for two years.I ran a big gun for a short time on the wifes 440 and it did not perform near as well as the white brothers.

unless your battery is at full charge 24/7 365 days a year you'll have problems starting it. White Bros even started to advertise that your battery must be at full charge for their CDI to work properly and not give you starting problems. Buy a battery tender for an extra $50 and you'll be ok with the WB.

I've owned a WB box only to sell it 6 months later.

duneittilludie must have gotten the only good CDI they sell..:p

How much hp increase do you gain with one? And what are some of the companies you can buy them from?

NO HP gain at all, just a higher revving motor...:macho

so is this the rev limiter? where you can increase your rpm range by about 1000
if so i got a wb and have had no probs

Hmm thats odd Rico. I beleive you and all but I read in RMATV or somwhere it gave you a 2-3hp increase... I'll recheck.

Yea... page 393 in a RMATV catolog says "Adds 2 full hp!" for the big gun.... False advertisment?

And K&N filters have claimed to make 15 hp more, alot of it is in advertising, it might give a hotter spark though the mid and top, but 2 hp, I dont think so, 2hp is a good gain on a 27hp stock engine, if you gained 2hp from it, then thats the best $110 investment for speed! But I doubt it did or will

it doesnt add hp...it adds more rpm to ur engine...it not only does this but it changes your power spred throughout your engine...so it may feel like you gained more power but u didnt...it just feels like you did because of the power changes it made...call up sparks racing at 661-872-4343 and talk to someone there...they can tell you all about what the rev box does for you...C&D may also kno a little about them themselves :D

RICO - I must have got lucky with the white brothers rev box because not only did it not make my wifes quad hard to start but it also performs better as tested by me than the big gun.The difference in performance between the two was about a 1 to 11/2 quad length advantage in a 300 foot uphill sand drag when doing a comparison.I must admit that i have talked to others that have experienced the starting problems with the white brothers but so far we have not.The best power improvement that we made was finally figuring out the right octane level to run with 11:1 compression and a mid range cam.

Their is to many variables to conclude the white brothers had 1- 1/1/2 length, unless the big gun was pooping out, I dont see how the white brothers would have the advantage or disadvantage

PNUT420 -We ran the quad on the same hill for about six runs with each box and the results were as i stated. My wifes 440 is far from stock and i can only assume that the motor and the white brothers were a better match for each other as far as where the rpms affected the power curve. The difference in two boxes on the same quad is not unusual at all and because of the fact that a different ignition can affect the power curve much the same as a cam and you can see the difference on a dyno chart.

The box works fine for me in warm weather. The Box changes the timing curve and requires the motor to turn higher RPM to start. This can be difficult with a weak battery or cold weather....
