I ride it the woods and keep bending my tie rods. Are there any stronger aftermarket ones out there? Where and how much?

Thanks

A guy on her said that 250r tie rods are much stronger. When you run stronger tie rods you have more of a chance of bending your steering stem so be careful.

Yea buy a pair of 250r tierods. They may be alittle more $ but they are alot stronger, and i really dont think you will have any proablems bending your sterring stem.

You could quit hitting trees:D jk. timmy boy designs makes tierods out of stainless steel and chromoly but there like 50 dollars for a set compared to 12 for a stock set

$3 Honda 400EX tie rods are much cheaper than new aluminum knuckles....

I know of quite a few people that have broken steering knuckles by using high strength tie rods...

The 250R had steel knuckles, which is why it had stronger tie rods... 250R tie rods are also something like $30/ea... Some very simple math tells me that I can stock a lot of 400EX tie rods in my truck for that...

I look at tie rods as a "fuse" in the steering system. I'd rather have them bend and absorb the shock of the impact rather than jacking up the lower half of my steering stem, tearing up the knuckles, etc. For as cheap as they are you can afford to stock several sets and bring them on your riding excursions just in case. BTW, not to flame but how come you're bending so many tie rods? I know accidents happen but in my experiences this happens very infrequently.

I'll bend a tie rod every damn time I ride!!!! Not very hard to change or for that matter bend back. I've to date replaced 15 of them, I keep them in my garage to show how shi*** they are. Most of the time people who have gotten aftermarket a-arms will practically give you the stock rods. I'd much rather replace them with stockers than risk somethin else bending!!! .02
