Exhaust Guts !!!

I have taken my exhaust apart to repack. My baffle was rusted and actually broken. I made a new sleeve and sand blasted the end caps. Should I paint the baffle before i repack it. i know you don't see it, but I was thinking about protecting it from future rust.
Also, the silencer is an aluminum body. I would like to bling it up a little. Do I paint it or polish it? I would like either, But want to one that will hol dup better and will require less maintance to keep it nice !!

if the new baffle you made is just a raw steel then you definantly need to paint it with a high temp paint or else it will rust again and you'll be back at square one, alumium silencers always look good polished and if you want to go the extra step go and have it powder coated clear so it will be maintanence free
