416 carb?

i am putting together a 416 motor with a sparks cam and a little flow work done to the head....question is...should i run my stock carb as is and just rejet or.... send out the stock carb to get some mods done to it or..... buy a aftermarket carb? if you suggest a aftermarket carb with one and what size? thanx

I did the same kit you are doing except i went with a different cam. HRC cam. I ran the stock carb for a while and ugraded to a fcr 39. I do like the extra power that the fcr 39 gave. Better throttle responce along with more over all power. I bought it through C&D they have good prices. The other option I looked at was the sparks stock carb mod. It is a little cheeper than the fcr 39. I don't know how they perform. I know Rico on this site runs one. Might want to here what he has to say.;)

By the way. Good to see another saramento rider on here. We will need to get together and ride some time. Where do ya ride.

Who is doing the porting and/or motor. Carmichael Honda ?

if you don't have the 400+ bucks layin around for the fcr than definantly get your carb bored ya can't be it for the price my bike is a very healthy runner and if you want to save some cash get your carb bored at rocky ridge its the same thing as sparks only 50 bucks cheaper

is a fcr 41mm to big for a 416?
what about the mikuni flat slide 38mm?

or....the psi carb 32x40 has no jet its adjustable with the turn of a knob is it any good?

i don't know much about the 41mm carbs, but from what i read the FCR carbs are the best made. i know many people on here run the FCR 39mm's and absolutely love them. i may actually try the 41mm to just see how it runs. the sparks x-4 is a pipe. he was asking about the cam.
