How much did you spend on your 416 kit??

How much $$$ and what all did you get done on your 416 kit?
Like parts, labor, etc. did you have some one build it or did you do it yourself? cus i am interested in getting one and i am just looking to see what everyone is getting and how they are doing it. Please include what kind of piston and cam used.

I spent less than $300 on mine. That included cam, bore, piston, all gaskets and valve seals. :blah:

Power increase was awesome compared to stock. Adding a pipe didn't create half the amount of power as the 416 kit did.:eek:

so that means you installed yourself, was it difficult, putting in cam and piston, i heard if you dont get them just right you blow it up. is it hard to get them where they need to be?

i've got probably bout 800 into mine total that's including the porting and the bored carb


that's doin it myself and yeas if you don't get the cam and piston timed right it can definantly cause some havoc

JE piston kit, cam, gaskets and Sparks 8 plate clutch= $425 or so from C&D Racing.

Porting, valve job, and bore= $425

I also have the sparks 8 plate clutch, Hinson basket, lightened flywheel, sparks modified carb, GT thunder CDI. (GT thunder ported head after this week :D) I can't really discuss pricing because a lot of it was at a sponsored discount but none of it was cheap...:mad:


But the $300 on just the 416 upgrade with cam was well worth the money, especially for were I ride.

If your in the dunes, you'll need a cool $1,000 ta get more power..:eek2:

That's about what I spent Rico, was $950, and then I did the Jegs cooler with braided lines. That was well worth the $135 I spent, she got hot but was well under control.:D

Now I need a 39 fcr....who's got one???
