Piston and sleeve question?

i no this is proly a stupid question but i have a 440 kit and i got it out of the package last night and out of curiosity i tryed to put the piston in the sleeve to see if it fit good but it wont go in so does that mean i have the wrong piston or sleeve or does the sleeve need to be shaved alittle because its a brand new kit???

Do u Mean the sleeve will have to be shaved so the piston will fit or should it already fit in the sleeve with out having to do anything to the sleeve??(they might have sent me the wrong sleeve)

the cylinder will need to be bored to match the piston all big bore kits come like this
