426? confused

Hey, Im looking for a 400ex for around $2600 but my question is, whats these 426 conversions im reading about. There are a lot of threads about quads having a yz426 conversion. What does this consist of? Like are motor mounts moved, different frame. Whats involved. That mean there will be a radiator needed to be mounted?

it is a bike motor in a quad frame, i have one and am building a CRF motor in a quad frame also...they are a little slower than a blister though...

So basically, i can take say a CRF or YZF 426/450, and just slap it into a 400ex frame? Like i dont gotta change stuff for the ATV abuse? What about the radiators?

umm u gotta do a lot of stuff! Make your own motor mounts, mount up a radiater and bunch of other stuff! Do a search under some of mxbubs threads! He made a few which went into everything you need to do!

too much trouble id consider a crf but id buy a yfz before either

personally I don't think that anything beats a hybrid quad. If you have the money I would sujest just going out and buying a aftermarket frame. That would take a ton of hassel out of it
