I feel sorry for you if you're going to try and race snowcross with a 97 MXZ583! You might as well sign up for the PRO class at a GNC with a Bombardier Traxter!

Not to dis your sled, because I have the exact same one. But the current models are all about 50lbs lighter with 3-4 inches more suspension and MAMMOTH shocks compared to that 583!

Seeing that you have a 02 MXZ700 (I have one too) and a 03 REV in your sig, are you telling me that you'd take a 97 583 up against one of the new sleds?

I might buy myself a 99 ZR 700 . I can get a pretty sweet deal on it , so once we get a bit more snow I might concider it a bit more . Our family used to be really heavy into sledding back in the early '90's . We helped start up the local snowmobile club and the S.T.O.P program ( volonteer trail wardens that work along with local and provincial police) . Wouldn't mind getting back into it again.

My old xlt, still have to put the composite plastic ski's I bought for it on here.

I'm kinda waiting for the snow also. I think we have a bout a month wait yet though. Unless you want to get the old boggie wheel machine out. I have one also, but it's a little bit newer then that. 400 olympic.

For a new slead I'm leaning towards an sx viper. Are they ever gonna make a rev 700? I'm not sure if a rev is for me. From the looks of it, you can go almost as big on a viper, and it would be a more comfertable trail machine. I still love tripples also.

theres a rev 800 out. H.O or Sdi, H.O is carborated. Sdi is a type of fuel injection.
nothing like the power of a triple. :D

I have heard of realiabilty problems on rev800's. I know the 700 is a smoother running motor. Again that's just what I have read.

I think I'd go carborated also, much easier and cheaper to fix.

Watch pbs adam, the snowmobile report shows are on again, they did an awesome show on the sudbary ontario trails yestarday. I wonder what they have for atv and motorcycle trails over there also. They look awesome, tottaly worth the trip.

86350x and Adam202 . I live in Sudbury and we are just starting to get some snow tonight , which I hope will stay . We get snow then it melts , snow , melts... getting kinda angry with it . I know about 3 hours north of us in Timmins Ontario , their lakes are all frozen and they have close to 2 feet of snow already . Last year we had a terrible snowmobile season in the Sudbury area . Didn't officially open the trails until the first week of February and they closed 2nd weekend of March . Anywhere in a 50 mile radius of us had LOTS of snow , we were kinda stuck in a hole . We do however have some of the finest trails in the world . First place for finest trails would have to be Quebec. I have made trips to Quebec just to go riding and we put on countless miles in a period of three days . Quebec trails are one way trails and are about 80 feet wide in each direction . Basically a freeway for sleds . All the corners are banked , so you can practically cruise doing about 70 miles per hour or more . Cops don't really bother you either . As for ATV trails , a little community about 2 1/2 hours from Sudbury called Elliot Lake has the first official ATV trails in Canada . They have started up a club and are hoping to link our trails with those of Quebec and eventually have a trail that runs from the east coast of Canada to the west Coast of Canada . Im not sure if they have a website or not but try a google search for Elliot Lake Ontario Canada ATV Trail System . Also i think www.ofatv.org will break down soem of the trails in Ontario . Let me know if I can provide further assistance in any of your trip planning . And if you do come to Sudbury make sure to stop in at Royal Distributing ( Canada's largest snowmobile and atv accessories dealers) , and say Hi to me . Lataz

That would be awesome, I wish I had more free time. I should be able to make a trip or 2 though. I have only put about 200 miles on my xlt since rebuilding it.

We've only had a little bit of snow and mostly ice, just enough to double the amount of time it takes to drive to work:grr:

I'll post up when I go, like the bull gap thread. And will stop in if I'm in the area. On a side note, what is the new ice fishing limits for us outsiders? I heard they dropped it alot.

Ummm I know there are slot sizes now . Means fish between certain lengths cant be kept. I also knwo the amount of fish that can be kept has dropped also . You would have to contact the Ministry of Natural Ressources to find out the regulations .
