my buddys are all gettin bigger quads, but i want to keep my reliable 400. what would be the best kit to get 416, 440, etc. and who sells them? i ride mostly trails, a sand pit, and drag on some farm roads...i want a kit where the maintence is going to be minimal as possible and still count on the reliablility? thanks

Sparks 416 National. Very relaible, and very fast from what I've heard. Or anything else from Sparks.

FDO builds a very nice 463 stroker motor. tons of power great reliability. Relitivly inexpensive. Same motor as the project quad the site did.

I have an IMS 440 kit and I have never had a problem with it. I got back in '99 when I bought the bike and she still runs like a champ, except for a minor jetting problem that was my fault. Anyway great kit!

The 425 is the best of both worlds. You keep the reliability that the 400 is known for, and you get all the power that you need. I was at the track yesterday, and i had a guy that owned a yzf426 come up to me and ask me how the hell i got that thing so fast. The motor was set up for mx racing (lots of top end) but it still has about 10 times more bottom than my old setup. I have it geared up a 16 tooth front, and the thing still pulls the front end up in 4th just by a jab of the throttle. And if money isnt an issue, look into getting an aftermarket carb, with whatever setup you end up getting. The motor truly comes alive once you have that thing dialed up. Any questions, pm me, i be glad to help ya.
