The best thing to do is buy an aftermarket lock nut.

I have a mezomotorsports axle locknut. Its brand new, never used. It should fit the dura-blue HEAVY duty axles. I am wanting $50 Shipped.

put some read lock-tight on that bad boy. Let it dry, it will stay there, mine has so far, and thats what I had to do. Or spend the $50 and get the aftermarket lock nut.

ThyJuGGaLo, Are you "locking" the lock nut?

I see guys who tighten up the nut with whatever wrench, then they tighten up the lock nut. This is not correct. You must tighten up the nut, but when you tighten the lock nut with 2 wrenches, one for each nut. The two nuts should be tightened against each other. If you simply tighten the lock nut alone, then you are merely torqueing it to whatever the axle nut is torgued to.

According to my Clymer manual, the outer nut should be only 65 ft-lb.s, while the inner lock nut is 95 ft-lb. Threadlock is used also. If you tighten the lock nut correctly, it will not come loose. The trick is having the right tools, which likely cost more than an aftermarket nut.

I just put Loc-tite on my stock lock nut and it's holding fine.
