Stock Exhaust Mod

has anybody tried the stock exhaust mod that removes the silencer and does other things inside. does it really work?

you might get a little low to midrange power. it also does change the sound some. is it worth it?? i really don't know. i did it before i got my pipe and it seemed to run better in the low to midrange, but i didn't gain any up top. i would consider getting a new pipe if your looking for a better sound and more power.

my buddy did that exact thing and it made it a lot louder and a little more power

I did the mod.. It makes it sound a lot better also there was a slight power increase. The way I measure performance differences with any mods I do is I race my brother on his moded Blaster. My EX stock was very close to my brothers moded Blaster in a 200 ft drag. We would usually tie or I would beat him by a hair. With the exhaust mod we would still tie mostly but I would beat him a bit more often than before and by a little bit bigger margain(as much as a 1/2 quad length).

Bottom line is if you have the time and like a throaty exhaust sound than go for it but don't expect huge performance gains. If you plan on buying an aftermarket exhaust in the near future I would hold off.

I wanna try it but hteres snow on the ground and i dont wanna get snow in and it get wrecked..... ?

i wouldnt worry about the snow..i took my stock exhaust and cut it off about 6" and took all the insides out..sounds pretty good

how much louder was it over stock?

my buddy had a raptor and "gutted" out his stock exaust, it was hella loud:D

Just remember if yuo do this mod or even remove your end cap it more than likely is going to run a little more lean, so you might want to up your pilot 2 sizes. I learned the hard way;)
