The caliper plate and the littlie thing that keeps the caliper plate from moving thats in front of it, Get worn and start moving around. If you want to go through the trouble you could weld them up and grind them back down so there was very little movement.

The brakes work a little better. But it isnt enough to worry about it.

An easier way would be to powdercoat the caliper stay, but it wouldnt last as long as the other method. It just has to be tight around the bearing carrier and the holder on the front.

How much movement is there?

I belive some movement is normal, mine moves about 1/8" or so.

The little thing that goes on the side of the swingarm, on the little peg thing, thats missing. I never put the one on my R, and it worked all season, but it could break the side off teh swingarm pretty easily I suppose.

The peg coming off the swingarm will still be there, its the little round piece taht should be gone.

to fix the problem you'll need a new caliper plate and that little round thing...around $35 if i remember correctly

it should have some play, but not that much play, I had to replace mine

the little round thing in the middle is actually just part of a bolt that is bolted on and isn't part of the swingarm
