View Full Version : Got my CarbonFiber Hood on.....

Well it took me a while and was nervous about it for a while, it came with nothin at all, just the hood. I had to go out and buy the bolts and everything to hold it on. I used some JB Weld and put the ignition assembly back on. I am going to go back and touch it up a little. But here are some pics....

Looks cool. I think you should trim the red plastic some so you don't see it when you look through the scoop.

Ya I am going to I have to wait to mess with it till the JB weld dries up.

hey man go buy some bolts because that JB weld will not hold that hood on...You will have to drill ur own holes tho but at least u know it isnt gonna come off and then u run it over..IS that a feathercarbon hood off ebay....If so thats what im getting

I have to stay out in the dog house for the time being, lol....That is at my parents house, I dont stay there, Ya you can use lights, I have to buy some new ones tho, and it cost about 130 shipped.

How would you use the Lights??? you just cut the pieces that it mounts too off!

hood looks sweet though....once i make some more money, i'm gonna be getting one too!!!

Looks like you copied me:D Seriously looks good but will look even better when you put it on. That sucks it didnt come with hardware, my quadtech hood came with studs and nuts that I had to locktite in. I am planning on doing the same setup to my R so my 400 and R will look the same. I just got some mint 400 plastic from a guy on here. A word of advice, if youre gonna buy plastic from somone make sure they live out west like this guy, that way there are hardly any scratches.

I am going to mount some little 55 watt lights at the top of my air scoops. They will fit in there perfectly, I will be able to use my stock headlight switch as well. It will look sweet. The only time I will need to put them on is when I go to the Dunes ands night ride, then I will take them off. Here is a pic, you can kinda get an idea for whee they will be, up top of the radiator shrouds inside of them.....let me know if you dont understand...

I passed the 10 grand mark this winter too, I just gave myself alittle pat on the back and stared at the quad for a second realizing how much money I just spent, but it was damn worth it!;) I'm just about at the 12k mark right now.

I feel you guys pain. Im in your shoes also. I think mines getting close to 13 in the R. My dads 300s gettin on up there too. Its an expensive hobby to race, but we love it!:D

I hope mine will be worth 10 Grand some day. My brothers R is worth 10 at least. He still has to get a Swingarm, Steering Stem, PEP ZPS Front Shocks, and a Rear Shock Rebuild. Plus his Oil is like $9.75 a Quart, and he has to run Race Gas. I know how he feels. I have a Wish List that`s well over 9 Grand just in Parts. That`s not even with the Price of the 400EX. It`s WORTH every PENNY.

I worked my *** off...and my quad is around the 12 marker.....I bought a leager chrome sub frame 2 nights ago...when i put it on ill take some pictures and put it on here....should i shave my fenders

Was the Sub-Frame used? When I called Laeger a while back the Lady told me they were not making Sub-Frames for the 400EX anymore.

Naw it was new right outta the box...But i have to buy a air box to put the battery in.....because the sub frame i bought dose not have the little bump out.

Where did you Buy the Sub-Frame? Do you have any Pictures of it? I want to see it without all the Battery Mounts.
