i have a 2004 400ex with stock wheels and i was wondering how wide of tires i can go on the stock 9x8 wheels?

as wide as you want anything will fit as long as it's a 9 inch for the rim. You could got all the way to 13.5inch with spider tracks.

yes, as long as the rim size matches ( the diameter) the tire will fit. this will also protect your rims quite a bit. I think mine are 11 inch wide, stock is 10
