i just bought a 78 fj-40. Its in great running condtion but the tub is beginning to show some wear. So next winter i am doing a frame off rebuild on it with full aluminum body 4 inch lift and 34 swamper bogger's and new rebuilt brakes. It has only 101,223 miles on it. So its still got alot of life left. I cant believe the 4x4 on this thing though i mean it pulls anywhere! anyone else got the craze too? btw mines got warn hubs factory soft-top with no tears etc. and a warn winch (its a old factory option one) and new weber carb. Runs like a champ!

I had a '72 Landcruiser when I was growing up, one of the best climbing 4X4's ever.. I could crawl up anything. I bought it for $300 in '86 and fixed it all up nice.

I live in Cincinnati too, in Mt Washington. Where are you? Whats the status on the FJ?

Oh and BTW, the motor in the stout CANNOT be a 1F....look closely....it's missing 2 things.....(hint....the 1F is a 6cy :) )
