z400 carb probs

i got a 2003 z400 it has stock motor and stock carb does anyone tht has a z have problems with it dying in the woods or anywere all the time when u pull in the clutch and are not given it gas? i race hare scramble and inthe woods when pull in the clutch if i aintgiven it gas also it will die right away then start back up if anyone has a cure please help

try turning out the air mix screw

also make sure your choke is all the way turned off, the cable adjustment could be off, making the choke stay partially closed....i had this happen while i was riding a friends z400, it kept stalling, turns out i bumped the choke lever going around a corner, and it was about 1/4-1/2 inch pulled on.
