I have been looking recently for a project bike or quad and I've found a 1999 Yamaha YZ125 for $750.00 on e-bay. He says it has a cracked cylinder and the rear brake caliber is also cracked.
My question is at the bottom of the post

here's a copy of the description:
1999 YAMAHA YZ125 . EXCELLENT PROJECT OR PARTS BIKE . IT IS NOT RUNNING DUE TO A CRACKED CYLINDER , THE REAR BRAKE CALIBER ASSEMBLY IS ALSO CRACKED. THE BIKE IS IN GOOD OVERALL CONDITION AND IS COMPLETE LESS THE EXHAUST PIPE , IT DOES HAVE AN FMF STUBBY SILENCER. BEING SOLD AS IS OR WILL PART IF NOT SOLD BY AUCTIONS END. BUYER TO PAY FOR AND ARRANGE SHIPPING OR PICKUP.

And heres some pictures:

Now my question is is it worth going for? How much will getting it up and running cost probbaly? I appreceate any help greatly. The only thing noticabial from the pics is a rusty frame besides that it seems to be in preey good condition what does everyone else think.

O yea the bikes all the way down in florida so I woudnt be able to look at it before I bought meaning It would be shipped to me costing me $200-$300 probally.

theres an '01 cr125 that all it needs is a left engine case....he prolly just popped the chain and it cracked and wants $1000

I would look into the '01 cr instead...the head might have cracked on this yz if the owner tried to wash it before the bike was cooled..might show if the owner wasn't the best at matience or didnt really know what they were doin

Even if you can't get the CR for $1000 there are a lot better deals out there than the YZ. Around here you can get '98 and '99 125 for $1500 with some goodies. Just my $.02

Yea but thats missing the point I am looking for a project bike something that needs work. Not something already running.
