Lately we have been inundated with threads regarding scams on eBay. We are all quite aware of these scams now and we kindly ask you to not post everytime there's a new one spotted. These scammers are selling everything from garden tractors, to off-road vehicles to Harley's. If you see any quad being sold on eBay that the asking price is freakishly low, you must be a pre-approved buyer, the seller has impeccable feedback, they ask you to wire money via Western Union and they do a $h!tty job of pretending to be a foreigner--it's a scam. Alert eBay immediately but please don't post about it in here. I know you are all trying to help but it's getting out of hand with all the threads. A word of caution, don't click the eBay link about becoming a pre-approved buyer. It sends you to a look-alike eBay page and it asks for your username and password. If you enter this information you've just handed your account over to these people.

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Hopefully these scam artists will be caught and hung by their gonads... i was thinking tie fishing line to both of their big toes, tieing it real right and hangen them by the fishing line until there toes get cut off..then repeat the process until all of their toes are gone, then make them bite the curb and stomp their face into the curb

All of this is a good reason why I have never bought somthing from e-bay.....I did bid on an MP3 player once, but I never got around to e-mailing the guy. For some reason...I just don't trust what I see on there most of the time. And a trx450r going for 3,000 is a good reason not to believe what you seeon there, seeing as how its not even out yet:mad:

Also be aware of the scams where people are from overseas and wanting to buy what your selling. Again, the feedback is almost pushy but they want to send you more than what it's worth in a form of a cashiers check. Then they want you to wire the balance to their shipper once you cashed the cashiers check. This is a scam because the cashiers checks are fraud. They are hoping some teller at your local bank won't catch the phoney check and cash it. Once the check comes back to the bank with no funds you are responsible for paying the bank back. It almost happened to me because I was unaware of thius kind of scam and buy stuff all the time with cashiers checks and money orders. I just happened to call the bank the cashiers check came from and they informed me that they issued no such check and they had in excess of 5 million dollars worth of fraudulant checks being investigated. It was only luck that I caught it. Remember, cashiers checks are hand signed by the teller issuing them. Mine hand a rubber stamp signature.

yah..they tried to get me with that scam...when i saw the fake check they had sent me I told them it was fake & he got real angry with me & tried to scare me into sending him the rest of the money. I still have the fake check.

Wouldn't the person paying the money also be breaking the law?

Last time I checked it was illegal to pay money to get screwed!

there from another country so The FBI doesnt do anything about it....try calling them too...its pretty much a joke & they will laugh at you. even if you got ripped off.

Jumbo747 is right. I called the FBI trying to do the right thing. The lady acted like she really did not care and told me there's nothing the FBI could do since the people doing this scam is overseas. However, she told me I could mail her the correspondence I had and the fake check so she could file it away:rolleyes:
