i looked over my x-mas budget and it came out like this...
1. 450R (with finicial help of sponsors)
2. helmet cam
3. new gear
and a g/f, lol

can you just get one at radio shack or do you have to order them somewhere online? my dad and i are putting a video together of my races this year and i'm heading down to some indoor arenacorss tracks and get some footage. then i'll use it for some races next year too.

we bought a real small video camera, it would probably fit in a phanny pack around my waste of something, anyone know about them? thanks

wyndzer has one, you might ask where he got his. That is the one used for the H/M ride that was made into a DVD.

This site sells them pretty cheap compared to others and it is the same camera. It is where I got mine. You want the high res model with 480 scan lines and the NTSC version. I then went to helmet camera. com and bought the accessories like the start and stop button.

One thing you need to make sure about is that your cam corder has a video in on it. Less expensive models don't have this feature and if they don't no place to record the video signal.

I have made a video with my helmet cam, but I don't know how much I would want to race with it on. You have a cable running from your helmet to the bag. I stuck the line down my shirt to keep it from flapping in the breeze.

Good Luck if you have a specific question feel free to pm me.

I have the helmatcamera.com x-treme. The thing works great very good picture & sound. The only thing that I don't like about it is I have to access the camera to start/stop taping. I also had to make a wind cover for the mic.

I picked up the Lanc control, which only works on Sony and Cannon Cameras. Works well I have the button strapped to my waist. As for the mic I just leave it in my bag. It still gets the quad noise just not the wind.
