Well this bike is finally completed! It is enormous!!! It is a gsxr1100 in a zilla chassis. It has nitrous but the bottle was off being filled at the time I took these pics. Here are some of the pics. If anyone is at Glamis this weekend you might see it there!

Bike Looks sick ... also looks like you got one hell of a house too. Great job on the quad . You should throw some drag tires on it and take it to a local drag strip and see what it runs in the 1/4 mile.

Thanks for the compliments guys......Atreyu-A guy down the street did the plastics...Kinda hard to tell in the pics but at the end of each flame it starts to fade into another color...They were originally black plastics like in the pic below

The quad looks like its gonna have alot of trouble to keep the front end down!

Thanks for the comments guys. The rear tires are 26-12-12's. The nitrous(sp) didnt get filled in time for the weekend. There is a problemwith it though. the front end is too heavy and wobbly so most likely a new set of upper a-arms will be made to fix the problem. There are aftermarket upper a-arms on there now and they arent gettin' the job done. I also thought it would have a tuff time keeping the front down but it only pulls it up about 1 foot off the ground while launching it:blah:

The weight of those motors moves the c/g forward compared to stock. I wanted to hear about the nitrous...I haven't tried mine yet. How do you activate yours?

AndrewRRR
12-01-2003, 11:45 PM
Sweet lookin quad! I especially like the paint job.
That thing is tall! Do you need a step ladder to get on it? lol j/k.
I have shortened springs and a durablue lowering strut on the back of casper. My swingarm is only a +5. It's nice how the street bike motors keep the front end down.

The nitrious(sp) is hooked up and ready to go just havent got the bottle filled yet. Right now there is a toggle switch on the handle bars to activate the nitrous(sp). Oldsandman and AndrewRRR does your bike's front end wobble and "sink" into the ground. I know the upper a-arms have to go though, they are pretty messed up. The swing arm is extended 10 inches and it seems to be working, it is just so big:huh

oldsandman
12-02-2003, 09:29 AM
Mine doesn't "sink" or wobble. I'm running a +4 swing-arm so I'm probably a lot lighter on the front. A friend of mine runs a +6 and it is much heavier on the front. His will push or plow the front end at low speeds but it sure keeps the front down out of the hole.

About the nitrous...I have a toggle switch to arm it and am trying to use the horn button to inject the nitrous/gas. I am thinking of using an msd system to run the nitrous automaticly though. I think it would be just less to think about that way.

Mine doesn't sink or wobble either. I think a +10 may be a little too much, that could be your problem.
It would be cool to have a TPS (throttle position sensor) switch to activate nitrous like they have on some car nitrous systems. I wonder if you could rig one of those up to a twist throttle. The MSD probably does it through a rpm window switch.

Yeah the msd controls it by rpm...on at 2000 through 10,000...I was going to try the throttle position sensor but had problems getting it to adapt to the honda sensor. I don't thimk I'm goig to like the button thing. I could see where you could get in trouble!

Holy cow! Isn't that a little low to be activating it? I know n2o adds a lot of torque but you also aren't supposed to activate it at less than 3/4 throttle or at too low of an rpm! snap crackle pop

That isn't what I'm running just an example of what is offered. Sorry for the misunderstanding...You do have to hit the button at wot and not back off if on the N2O or bad things can happen!

kilabanshee---It was taken to a painter that is down the street with a sample of the powdercoat teal color and then he got as close of a match as he could. Then he worked his magic. Oldsandman---The nitrous(sp) kicks in around 3/4 throttle. It has a microswitch to adjust it to your preference. As soon as it gets below 3/4 throttle it will "turn off" the nitrous(sp) automatically.

No problem man:cool: I think I remember you saying you had to mount the tank in the back of the quad. Did you use fab up a tank or use the stock one somehow ? Got a pick of your beast ?

I ended up removing the siphon tube and mounting the bottle upsidedown in the kicker cutout. I made a bracket that mounts to the angled frame tube their. I'll take a picture and post it.

I've got to meet up with you and andrew somtime! Get these things together and make some noise!

Sounds good to me! I'll have steve come out too, he has a LT500 with a 122hp ZX750 motor that he's planning on boosting up to about 175hp. I'll try to get a couple pics when he puts it back together (he randomly takes things apart, i'm not sure what he's doing on it this time, lol).

What kind of pipes are you running? I just have ceramic glass packs on the 600, I'm not sure if going to muzzy's, yosh's, V&H's, etc would give me any more power.

oldsandman
12-11-2003, 04:28 PM
I'm using the stock honda pipes off of the cbr. I just re-bent them a little and made a little collector. Then I added a cone with a supertrapp end cap. I had them ceramic coated after that. I don't know which pipe will give the most power. I bet a good 4 into 1 would make the most torque. I've seen some that give up too much ground clearance for me. I think your pipes look really clean though.

AndrewRRR
12-11-2003, 11:45 PM
thanks, yeah they are routed under the pegs on both sides (dual 2-1) which I think looks pretty clean. A lot of guys run 4-1's under the frame which just kills your ground clearance. I think my pipes would be pretty hot (no pun) if they weren't ceramic coated since they are running right under your feet. The way they are now they are just barely foot warmers :)
