Just curious as to what you think you should upgrade first..motor or suspension? I'm leaning more towards suspension.

i did motor first...and regret it! the suspension cant handle any of the motors power..so now you have to ride slower than b4!:cuss:

Suspension- without good shocks, how's the power getting to the ground?

steering/ suspension will always make you a faster rider than any motor work.

Suspension definitely first, then motor work.

Definately suspension because the stock shocks can't handle the built motor's power.

stock motor uses more than what the suspension has to offer

Everybody says suspension, but I disagree. I think it depends on what type of riding you're doing, and what your ultimate goal is.

If you're just riding with your buddy, and he has the same quad, I say go with the motor work. It's all about bragging rights, you'll be able to roost him anytime.

If you're trying to run with a Raptor, go with the suspension. The motor work to keep up with a Raptor is really pricey. Rather than try to keep up, make YOUR quad more fun to ride.

If you're looking to race, definitly go with suspension.

If you're playing in the dunes, go for the motor work. Sand needs big power.

If you don't have a specific goal in mind, you just want to make your quad more fun to ride, it's a toss-up, but probably leaning more toward suspension, because you can push the edge just a little further and ride your quad more aggressively.

Alot of you are suspension first.

I think it depends on what you are trying to do and the bike you are on.Like for example my 400ex.I think it handles just fine. It's just the power that isn't there.I already thought about this. And the first thing I wanna do is get a sparks x-6.Then nerfs, etc, etc,.The stock 400ex suspension is not that bad.Same thing would go for the 300ex to.

But if I had say a craptor. It has plenty of power. It's just trying to skinny.(I would love to have a raptor if it was wider. And not a yamaha.)I would go with suspension first.

I personally think suspention makes you a better ride IMO......:) But I do agree with if you are a sand rider........You DEF need power, believe me .......... I lack it........:o

Have you ridden on a quad with 1500 worth of suspenstion? I will guaratee it will make you faster than a $500 exhuast.

The suspension does several things. It absorbs bumps better, allows for more wheel travel, and lowers your center of gravity.

This allows you to take corners faster, ride longer because the suspension is absorbing more of the impact, and gives you more forgiveness when you jump and land off-center or wrong.

I'm just your average joe trail rider, and there is no way I would do motor work first, after doing suspension first.

Yes I have.My 250r has JD performance +1 +2 A-arms.Along with white bro's WP shocks that a built and valved for me and the +2's.I also have a WP rear shock that is also setup for me.Along with a +2 Axle. And Razr mx's all the way around.

I have also riden a full leager T-pin 250r with a custom axis suspension.

I have been riding for 14 years now.I have a pretty good idea of how I mod my bikes.99.9 percent of the time I wish it had more power.I mainly ride in open feilds and trails.Yes having really good suspension is great. But I am a pretty smooth rider.I clear the doubles when I want to.I have done 45 foot doubles on stock 400ex suspension. That is good enough for me.My 400ex is boring to ride due to the lack of power.

i would disagree..

personally id go for a new pipe(and headers if desired), filter, airbox, jetting..just the basics--hah, thats nothing...

suspension work before you go into the motor in any way unless its like a valve adjustment or something of that sort...

get a k&n filter, get rid of your choke, go up a tooth or two on your rear sprocket and get some shocks. If you mx the power really doesn't make that much differance imo but shocks make a HUGE differant time wise. The only time you really need more power is on the fly aways and when you are trying to pull 3rd around tight corners. Heck I still pull hole shots on a stock internal'ed 400ex.

sinc eeveryone is saying suspension im going to say motorwork! :p
