Look in the tech section. There's a guy who removed his and "chained" it so he could still use reverse. Personally, I like the lockout feature and plan to make or buy the "reverse shifter" on ebay.

I'd go for the reverse shifter adapter before I would do the mod. Less risk to your trans. I have the shifter lever and it works well and it's simple to do.

I have seen that lever, do you have any problem with it "snagging" on anything?

Mine has worked well. It doesn't snag on anything but then I have nerfs. I did install it so it was as high up as possible just in case. It's tucked in pretty close the the engine so I don't think it would snag too easily. For the money($10 or $15) I'd say it's one of the best mods I have done. Now I don't have to be a contortionist to shift to reverse. lol

All you need is one of these.

If that doesn't work try a search on eBay for 300ex reverse.

I also found another one there that was a bit different for about the same price that would work well too.

i did the reverse gear mod on mine w/ a shoestring..it holds up pretty dayum good! it is much easier shifting in reverse. if i were u i would just do it the free way like i did...either way..they dont make an ez pull clutch w/ the reverse button there
