I've been wondering if +3 arms will work good for MX. Would +2's be better? I'll be running PEP shocks. I'll also be running flat track in June. Just need some info....its for a 400ex.

I think that the +3s would be better.

I just got +3 on my R and so far i am not that happy with them. I had +2+1 on it before and had it dialed in pretty good. The +3 are pushing a little threw the corners. I am going to try a couple difrent tire combos to see if i can get this fixed.

That is a good ?. I have been wonder if I should go with +2's or +3 myself. The thing is I do a lot of differnt styles of riding. Dunes, Trails, track etc. I do know that I need to widen my 400ex. I laso need to lengthen my swing arm +1.25 or 2". I love to wheelie, but the 400ex is to easy to wheelie.

I prefer +2's myself. My friend has an almost identically prepped EX like my 406 only he had +3's and his front end felt more vague, like it pushed in the corners and didn't feel as planted as +2's. JMOthough.

On those quads that were pushing were those +3 long travel w/zps shocks, or just standard +3 with regular shocks????

Is that common on standard +3's ?

What offsets are you guys running? 4:1 is the offset to keep it AMA legal and it will help with pushing in the corners. However, it will take your width down to what +2 is with 3:2 offset rims, but will handle better.

just because your quad "pushes" in corners doesnt mean that +2 is better than +3. Almost all +3's are better than +2's. The +3's your rode on were probably made by a different company and therefore did not ride the same way, and the shocks are a big part in how the quad handles and turns. also... tires are a very key part as well as the conditions you rode in with certain tires. There are a lot of different things that can factor into how something handles. I would highly recommend +3's.

oh yeah... I have +3 with 3:2 offset wheels... I am at only 49 1/2 inches. What quad are we talking about? Mine is 250r geometry (same width as 400ex)

I agree with the tire issues. I am going to try a couple difrent tire combos to find something i like. I think I have to much traction in the front for the rear.

so who on here has used +3 long travel? did it push very much in the corners? what off set wheels did you use? and what was your front end width?

I have the +3 long travel with the stock honda off set. I think I am having tire issues with my front end pushing. I bumped up my front tire pressure to 9 and lowered my rear to 3 Psi. Now the back wants to come all the way around and the front is staying planted. So I am pretty sure it is my tire combo

with +3s ur suppost to go with 4-1 rims for them to work a lot better...

yea I forgot to say when I had the +2s I wish I had just gotten the +3s to begin with to give me the extra width, with the +2s and the Lonestar axle at +4 the front was only at 47.?" and the rear was at 49.5" +3s would have given me a more even setup

4-1 rims would make anything handle better but it takes away your width :( +3s on a 400ex and 3-2 offset with put you at just under 50" which is what MXers are looking for
