Do they make a CRF450 kit for the 400EX. What all would you have to change and what do you think it would cost? I'm getting ready to do my motor and I'm just looking at all my options.

Thanks Mark

you'd have to change the whole motor

I know that, I just want to know what the motor would cost and what mods I would have to make to the frame.

Do a search on here for many discussions about this, and check out east coast atv as they do conversions.

NO kit. You would have to change the entire engine. It would cost lots! The best thing to do would be to find a CRF450 engine but it is a bit of a high maintainence engine for a quad. I would bet you would be into building a complete TRX450R engine about $5K by the time you were done.

its been done before. If you have a steady hand, and a good welder, you can do it yourself. At a dealer in my area, the owner did this conversion. He took the motor and frame to a custom welding shop. They fitted the motor in there, and welded the mounts and radiator. Fast freekin bike, let me tell you :eek2:

That's the info. I was looking for. I'm probably going with a 416 w/13.5 JE, corrilla rod, heavy duty valve spring, hardened rockers, modded web cam, FCR39, Sparks x-6. I'll do search on the CRF450 though. Just curious on what I could the motor for.
