OK I am turning to you guys for help. I bought a stock rear rim from a guy recently and I put the tire on and air seems to be leaking around the bead. Can anyone help me, besides putting a tube in it. Thanks

did u put the tire on urs self? i would take it to ur local napa or something to that effect, my step dad owns one and he allways loaded the rim up with stuff called beed sealer. that should help. and if not then i gess a tube is ur next option?

Yeah that will be next on my list, but my local tire changer doesnt like to see me as much I dont like to see him, since he dented one of my rims taking a tire off.

o that sucks, i think i would be a little upset if they slamed one of my rims to. What kind of tires do u have on ur bike?

i have worked with tires a long time. A trick that usually seems to work.......Overinflate the heck out of the tire. Put like 25-30 psi in it. Then, let it back down to whatever you run in them. What happens is that the tire bead deosn't seat all the way unless you load them with air.

try it out, and let me know.

Texan -I will try that.

The tires and rims a are stock rears from a 400EX, they are just my spares but what good are they if every time I go to use them one tire is flat.

Texan should be right I had the same problem with mine. I got an aircompressor and put tons of air in the tire and haven't had a problem yet. (with that tire)
