Engine noise

I will try to have this make sense it is about my wifes 300ex. Does the motor on the 300 make more noise than the 400, it is hard to explain it does not sound like valve train or nocking it is just maybe kind of a clattering or rattling noise, like I said it is hard to discribe and I am sure it is not the valves. The quad runs really good and starts fine and does not smoke. Just would like to know before I take it in and they say they all sound like that here listen to this one. Hope this makes some sense.

Is there another 300ex nearby that you can get with to compare?? My buddies and I always compare each others bike to be proactive. I know this doesn't always work, because if you both have the same problems, and they sound the same, you may think everything is alright. :rolleyes:

it could be a cam chain. when those things are about to go they make a chattering noise

My 300ex makes more noise in the head area than my 400ex and I had the 300ex valves adjusted about 5 hours of ride time ago. I don't know when the last time my 400ex valves were adjusted but I think it was quite awhile ago.
