Buletproof Motors??

HI All, just got a 400ex...the word on the street is themotors are pretty much bulletproof...anyone have any stories about blowing up new motors??????



Also I bougth the extended waranty...did I waste my money??

I had one for 4 years with 0 problems. Unless you got the warranty that gets you free maintainence, it is a waste. I passed on it when I bought my 400ex in 2000, and didn't need it. I got it with my cbr, but it wasn't needed. Live and learn I guess.

I blew two up but that was after extensive motor-mods and after they were raced for two seasons. If you leave the engine internals stock they will last forever with a few oil and filter changes.

I know a guy who managed to blow up a brand new stock 400EX. I'm still not sure how, but he did. It was in 2000.
