:D Hopefully I'll get to make this one. The only one I raced so far this year was Lakeview and I thought the course was too tight. I raced Cottonmouth last year and the course was pretty good last year. They had some two way traffic and one BIG mudhole. I didn't see them cause I was getting ready, but they said dirtbikes were hung up to their seats. I got hung twice but finally got thru it the last two laps. Hope to see you there and good luck!:D

Yeah, I'm around - been spending a lot of time at other sites - checking out info on the YFZ. I'm real close to dropping cash on one of those.

And I have a new job... and the wife and I are buying a 200 year old house that needs a lot of work... so I just have no time to get my machine running. Now the old man's 400 is down too after the last MSWS race so I have nothing to ride this weekend unless I bust ***** to get his or mine fixed.

It aint easy pimpin'.

General MSWS question for anyone that knows. It's 1.5 hours, but is it always 3 laps for the Pro's? Or do they sometimes do 4 if it's a fast track? I'm wanting to know so that if I get lapped on my 2nd lap I'll know I'm on my last lap and I don't have to worry about conserving energy for the third. But if the Pro's hit the scoring tent at the end of their third lap and it's not yet at the 1.5 hour mark I would think they would send them back out for a 4th?

Then what if I don't finish my 2nd until after the 1.5 hour mark, but the Pro's are already out on their fourth? Would they stop me or send me out for a third since the Pro's aren't done?

Well I wasn't able to run my big tires so I raced with my 20" holeshots that only have about 50% tread, that was a mistake. I finally got stuck so bad I ended up sitting there for about 40 minutes and having to be pulled out by a utility that came along. The scoring was over by the time I got back so I DNF'd :( . I thought the track was awesome for the most part, not really that many hills, but tons of nasty off-camber. This was my first mid-south and I couldn't believe how tight it was in some sections, then I actually heard a bunch of guys complaining about how open it was for a mid-south??

I finished 4th in the beginner class. Considering I lost my contact len about 2/3 through the 2nd lap so I finished the race doing a Ray Charles. You would not believe how much losing one contact messes with your overall vision. Got hung up 1 time and that was on the last lap with about 3 miles to go. Big Thanks goes out to Ryan (Remlapr) for helping me get out.

Anybody know who the guy was racing Pro (I think) on a yellow Z? I was stuck behind a guy that was stuck in the mud blocking the main line and the guy on the yellow Z was coming around to lap up and just went ballz out down through the woods to the right of us where there was no trail for probably 100 yards just plowing everthing over, and he was probably in third gear hammer down! It was the craziest thing I've ever seen while racing...

It blew my mind i have never seen anything like that happen and it didnt even hurt the tie rod. bought a new spindle today there went 60 bucks.

Those dirtbike ruts were so deep, my front tire dropped into one of them and I went over the bars when I got back up I noticed my front tire was off the bead. I guess I need some beadlocks.
I also wanted to say there was bunch of nice quads in that series. For a true harescramble there were some very fast sections but it was a fun track.

Hurray! I didn't DNF! I guess scoring one lap was enough to at least avoid the DNF. I ended up 10 out of 14 in class with 2 of the people DNF'ing. Looking at the times, even if I wouldn't have got stuck for 40 minutes on my second lap I would have only came in 1 or 2 spots better :o

Well my goal was to not DNF and not come in last, so I guess I'm happy, although I definately feel like I could have done better...

You can say that again. I don't know how you guys ride that hard for that long. This was my second "real" solo race and I DNF'd the first one (Haspin mud-fest), so I guess I'm moving in the right direction at least :D

I look at it like this, most of the guys I know (outside of the people I ride with) wouldn't even have the ballz to get out there in the first place. Their idea of being adventurous is staying out past the time they told their wives they would be home

Hey I would say I hang out with you every now and then and I have a ton of adventure in my life to much most of the time.

I think I have been spoiled in racing so far in the ute class at Haspin the first race I snapped my axel and still got 4th in the class and went to the buddy race and got 1 in that class, theres not much compition in that class but its still fun. I was a bout ready to steal on of the old guys ite yesterday at the race and give the guy on the Rincon a challenge.

Hey Jeff i was the one he was talkin bout with the 440 and i take no pride in all that Markk has been saying. I got smoked out of the hole by to yamas but drag speed is completly different then woods speed. ive seen people do well on a 250x against 400 ex z 400 and the such in a woods race. Congrats on your win and im sorry that Markk is a dum bass lol

I think i got my elkas lined out i spent about 45 min on the phone with em and i wasnt running enough ground clearance i had around 7.5" and they told me i should be around 10". I havent got to ride it yet but it feels better just sittin on it.

What did they tell you to do? Just crank down the ride height to raise up the front end?

Yeah they said that since i race XC i need to run around 10" frame clearance so crank the preload ring down. they said to measure with rider on the quad just a few " in front of the fron motor mount and at the pegs to get fron an back the same height or it will throw things off. i took mine for a lil spin today and it felt like it ride a LOT better but i didnt really get inot real rough stuff. good luck
